Blake Lively appears at ‘Another Simple Favor’ premiere amid lawsuits
Blake Lively made a public appearance at SXSW as she and “It Ends With Us” director Justin Baldoni litigate alleged on-set misconduct in court.
Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick’s twisted duo of Emily and Stephanie from “A Simple Favor” are back for round two in “Another Simple Favor.”
This time, the two friends reunite “on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman,” according to Prime Video, years after a joint murder-suicide mission landed one in jail, and one with a publishing contract.
“Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square,” the streamer says about the upcoming film.
In the first film, enthusiastic mommy vlogger Stephanie attempts to find her missing, enigmatic friend Emily only to learn Emily has faked her own death, which she tries to pin on her husband Sean (Henry Golding). But Emily is arrested after Stephanie secretly records Emily’s confession for a livestream.

Director was unsure about ‘Another Simple Favor’ sequel
Director-producer Paul Feig, at the world premiere of “Another Simple Favor,” said he was skeptical about doing a sequel because he wanted to get it right.
“There were a lot of times in the development of this I tried to kill it because I was just like, ‘If we don’t get it right, let’s not do it,’” Feig said. “We actually had a script that was greenlit, and we threw 70% out of it” after learning what people were looking forward to about the movie online.
“I’m not about fan service, but also I don’t want to rug pull an audience,” Feig said.
Lively, meanwhile, said she was “excited” when Paul asked them to return for a sequel, adding Emily is “probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play.”

“Another Simple Favor” arrives on Amazon Prime Video on May 1.

The 120-minute film will be available to watch on Amazon’s Prime Video starting May 1. While the streaming platform did not specify the time, new content usually drops 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT.
