Rumer Willis is revealing how close her family is, even as she gets older.
The eldest daughter of Hollywood royalty Demi Moore, 62, and Bruce Willis, 70, revealed on Tuesday’s “What in the Winkler” episode that she still shares a bed with her mom Moore.
“I still sleep in bed with my mom, and I don’t think it’s weird,” said Willis, 36, adding that she and her sisters “all still take baths together.” The famed Hollywood exes also share daughters Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31.
“And that’s just the kind of house that I grew up in,” she told co-host Zoe Winkler Reinis, the daughter of actor Henry Winkler. “People might think that that’s crazy and weird, but I don’t.”
The revelation came up when Willis and Winkler Reinis discussed co-sleeping with their respective children.
“Imagine if you took a baby gorilla or a dog when it was two weeks old or three months old, and had it sleep in a different room than (its) mom. Everyone would look at you like you were crazy. But yet we’re like, ‘Oh no, that kid needs to sleep through the night. It’s got to fend for themselves, got to learn how to self-soothe,’” Rumer Willis said. “They can’t even feed themselves!
“By the way, we as adults don’t even know how to self-soothe,” Willis said, adding that “we call a friend. People drink wine, people do drugs, people eat an entire tub of ice cream.”
The Willis-Moore family has stayed in the news in recent months in the wake of Moore’s Oscar nomination for her role in “Substance” and Bruce Willis’ ongoing battle with dementia, which his wife Emma Heming Willis has publicly chronicled. She shared a fond memory of their marriage last month while celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary.
The advocate and model, 46, took to Instagram on March 21 to honor her love story with the legendary “Die Hard” actor. The duo tied the knot on March 21, 2009, in Turks and Caicos.
“Today marks 16 years with the love of a lifetime,” Heming Willis wrote. “We’ve shared monumental highs and devastating lows, and through it all, we’ve built something timeless. I’m so deeply grateful for every chapter I’ve had with him—and all the ones we’ll continue to write, in our language of unconditional love 💙”
The Willis daughters shared in the celebration of the date, with Rumer Wills writing, “Love you Emma you are magic 321 and papa he loves you so much.” Her little sister Tallulah Willis commented: “321. I love you guys so much.”
